Art & Pumpkin Festival Oct 13-14
Still need to get your Halloween decorations? Then head to Half Moon Bay for the annual Art & Pumpkin Festival this weekend. There will be music, food/drink, contests, arts/crafts ... and plenty of pumpkins, of course!

Half Moon Bay is considered the Pumpkin Capital, and this event is famous. The World Champion Pumpkin Weigh-Off was held yesterday (a grower from Washington State won with a 1,223-pound pumpkin!), but most of the fun is scheduled for the weekend:
Saturday, October 14
7am - Pancake Breakfast, Mac Dutra Park, Main St @ Kelly Ave
9am - Festival Opens
10am - Costume Contest, Cunha School, Miramontes St @ Purissima St
12noon - Great Pumpkin Parade
2:30pm - Pie Eating Contest, Bank of America Family Fun Zone (ages 11 and under)
2:45pm - Pie Eating Contest, Bank of America Family Fun Zone (ages 12 and over)
6pm - Festival Closes
Sunday, October 15
7am - Pancake Breakfast, Mac Dutra Park
8am - Pumpkin Run/Walk, starts at Hatch School (Kelly Ave @ Hwy 1)
9am - Festival Opens
10am - Pumpkin Carving Contest, Bank of America Family Fun Zone
1:30pm - Judging/Awards for Carving Contest
2:30pm - Pie Eating Contest, Bank of America Family Fun Zone (ages 11 and under)
2:45pm - Pie Eating Contest, Bank of America Family Fun Zone (ages 12 and over)
6pm - Festival Closes
Given the popularity of the Festival, there may be a lot of traffic driving into Half Moon Bay. Please keep that in mind, in case you are trying to make it there at a specific time.
