Hello Sloan Partners!

Bring your kids for some fun to Lemos Farm! We're planning a field trip to Lemos Farm. This is a great place for children of all ages. The farm includes a hayride, pony ride, train ride, petting zoo, air jump, snack (cookie and lemonade) a small pumpkin and much more. For more information visit the website below.

Lemos Farm is 30 minutes from Stanford. We're leaving Stanford at 3pm sharp, arriving at Lemos Farm around 3:30pm. The farm closes at 5pm but we'll have time for 1 trip around the farm. Thea Swenson made reservations under "Sloans"

WHEN: Wednesday, Oct. 17, 3:00pm

WHERE: Lemos Farm http://www.lemosfarm.com/

face=verdana, geneva size=2>WHO: Children of all ages and adults.

WHY: Because your kids want to have some fun and spend time away from accounting, modeling and economics that dad and mom bring home.

ADMISSION: $8.50/per child, $2/adults, chaperones are free. (this price is if we have a group of 25, price may be a little bit higher if we have <25)

We chose Wednesday at 3pm because Lemos farm is very crowded on weekends giving the time of year; Wednesday is a flexible day for Sloans and by 3pm most children are out of care/school. So if you are a partner and can't attend, perhaps your Sloan can bring the kids? remember, this is all for the kids to have some fun!! and for adults that still like to go on hayrides and pony rides :)

If you do not have a ride, please let myself Alian Fernandez fnaila@gmail.com or Thea Swenson theaswenson@earthlink.net know and we'll see about an arrangement.

Hope to see all the kids there!

-Partners Social Chairs and President.

Sheryl and Bud Hyler tailgate before home games

They usually set up about 2-3 hours prior to every home game in Toyon Grove which is on Galvez between Arboretum and Nelson Roads across from the stadium, and conveniently located right near the restrooms. If they find the restrooms, they will find us.
10/13 game at 2pm
11/3 game at 3:30 pm

Art & Pumpkin Festival Oct 13-14

Still need to get your Halloween decorations? Then head to Half Moon Bay for the annual Art & Pumpkin Festival this weekend. There will be music, food/drink, contests, arts/crafts ... and plenty of pumpkins, of course!

When: October 13-14, 9am-5pm http://www.miramarevents.com/pumpkinfest/
Where: On Main Street between Miramontes and Spruce Streets, in Half Moon Bay
Info-Line: (650) 726-9652
[web site]

Half Moon Bay is considered the Pumpkin Capital, and this event is famous. The World Champion Pumpkin Weigh-Off was held yesterday (a grower from Washington State won with a 1,223-pound pumpkin!), but most of the fun is scheduled for the weekend:

Saturday, October 14
7am - Pancake Breakfast, Mac Dutra Park, Main St @ Kelly Ave
9am - Festival Opens
10am - Costume Contest, Cunha School, Miramontes St @ Purissima St
12noon - Great Pumpkin Parade
2:30pm - Pie Eating Contest, Bank of America Family Fun Zone (ages 11 and under)
2:45pm - Pie Eating Contest, Bank of America Family Fun Zone (ages 12 and over)
6pm - Festival Closes

Sunday, October 15
7am - Pancake Breakfast, Mac Dutra Park
8am - Pumpkin Run/Walk, starts at Hatch School (Kelly Ave @ Hwy 1)
9am - Festival Opens
10am - Pumpkin Carving Contest, Bank of America Family Fun Zone
1:30pm - Judging/Awards for Carving Contest
2:30pm - Pie Eating Contest, Bank of America Family Fun Zone (ages 11 and under)
2:45pm - Pie Eating Contest, Bank of America Family Fun Zone (ages 12 and over)
6pm - Festival Closes

Given the popularity of the Festival, there may be a lot of traffic driving into Half Moon Bay. Please keep that in mind, in case you are trying to make it there at a specific time.

(Thanks to Kikko for the tip!)
